1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Mukono Energies Uganda Ltd website and to the used cooking oil (“UCO”) collection services provided by Mukono Energies Uganda Ltd (“Mukono Energies”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using the website or requesting a collection, you agree to them.
Where you sign a separate written agreement with us, that agreement prevails over these terms if the two conflict.
2. Our service
We supply containers, collect UCO from your premises on an agreed schedule, and send it onward through our partner network for conversion into biodiesel.
- Submitting a request through the website is not a contract. A collection arrangement starts only when we confirm container supply, location and schedule with you.
- Service areas, collection frequency and minimum volumes depend on your location and are agreed with you. [TO CONFIRM]
3. Your responsibilities
To keep the service safe and the oil usable, you agree to:
- provide accurate contact, location and volume information;
- place only used cooking oil in our containers, free from water, fuel, engine oil, solvents, chemicals, food waste and other contaminants;
- store containers sealed, upright and away from heat and drains;
- give our team safe and reasonable access at the agreed time, or tell us in advance if you need to reschedule;
- follow reasonable handling and safety guidance we give you.
We may refuse or return a load that is contaminated or unsafe, and may charge for additional handling or disposal costs caused by contamination. [TO CONFIRM]
4. Containers and equipment
Containers and other equipment we supply remain our property. You must keep them in good condition, use them only for UCO collected by us and return them on request.
You are responsible for loss or damage to containers while they are on your premises, other than fair wear and tear. [TO CONFIRM deposit or replacement charges]
5. Collection and ownership of oil
- Ownership of the UCO passes to us when it is collected from your premises.
- Risk in the oil remains with you until collection.
- You confirm you are entitled to hand over the oil and that it was generated by your own operations.
- We will not return collected oil to the food chain.
6. Pricing and payment
Any price, rebate or fee for collection is agreed with you in writing before service starts, and may depend on volume and quality. Payment terms, currency and invoicing details: [TO CONFIRM].
7. Using this website
You agree to use the website lawfully. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, interfere with its operation or submit false or misleading requests.
The content, branding and design of this website belong to Mukono Energies or its licensors. You may view and share pages for personal or business reference, but may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission.
8. Information on this website
We try to keep the information on this website accurate, but it is general in nature and may change. Statements about renewable fuel or environmental benefits describe our intended pathway and are not a guarantee of specific outcomes for any individual customer.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or business interruption, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control such as weather, road conditions, strikes or utility failures. Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim arose. [TO CONFIRM with counsel]
10. Suspension and termination
Either party may end a collection arrangement by giving reasonable written notice. [TO CONFIRM notice period] We may suspend or end service immediately if you breach these terms, repeatedly supply contaminated oil or create a safety risk. On ending, you must return our containers.

12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version applies from the date shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website or service after that date means you accept the changes.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. We will try to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussion first. If that fails, the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction.
